What kind of power would you like?
I very much want the power of becoming invisible when I want to, so I can go and explore all the old architecture and abandoned buildings of Melbourne and anywhere else overseas without being caught or arrested.
How would it manifest? What would enable it?
By drinking a magic potion, or rubbing a magic ointment on my skin and clothing
Who is your favourite superhero/person/public figure, contemporary or imagined?
My mother, because she's seen and done some crazy and unbelievable things and she still managed to keep me safe even when she found it hard to keep herself safe.
What do you admire most about Frida Kahlo and "Freda" Josephine Baker?
I love how Frida cared for her friends passionately and was a very loyal friend, she was also very strong and did what she wanted to do without worrying how others perceived her. She also didn't care for conventional beauty standards and was unafraid to find and declare herself as incredibly beautiful.
I love Baker's convictions and bravery. She was also an incredibly strong woman and so beautiful.
What do you think of when you think of them?
Unattainability, something other worldly and unreachable. Invincible power, intelligence and strength.
What would you change in Melbourne? Australia? The world?
I would love to see more appreciation of the animals the world consumes and much less animals eaten. I'd love for it go to back to how things used to be before factory farming was invented. I would like to see government localised and for everyone to have enough food and access to growing their own gardens. I would remove most concrete and replace it with fields of flowers and places to grow food. I would make it everyone's right to live wherever they want to and make all humans citizens of the world. Destroy all guns and bombs. Create a new ideology that humans should only make more children if they really really want to be loving parents. I could go on, but I think I will stop there!
Are there any other issues that are important to you? Locally? Globally?
My grandparents were immigrants from Eastern Europe to England and my parents were both raised in slums so I feel very affected when I hear of asylum seekers that are turned away and left for dead. They are beautiful people and all have the right to be safe.
Do you feel like change is possible in these areas? How?
I don't think so, I think it's only getting worse. But I would love to not be so pessimistic.
Do you think your ideas could change anything?
I would like to be able to humanise asylum seekers to the general population somehow, but I don't know how.
Are you comfortable speaking your mind/putting ideas into the world?
Yes, absolutely
Do you consider yourself a feminist? Womanist? Why/why not? What does this mean to you?
I am a (sex positive) feminist because I believe the word is important, I also believe that having something for everyone that is first and foremost an acknowledgement of gender prejudice is extremely important. Like any paradigm feminism is flawed and imperfect, and has had a troubled past of favouring white wealthy women. But I believe that it's come a long way and continues to evolve and become less rigid, less extreme, and more intelligent.
How often do you subconsciously/consciously think about your desired superpower when you dress on a daily basis?
I subconsciously think about it everyday
