What kind of power would you like?
The power to abolish ignorance from people's mind.
How would it manifest? What would enable it?
The power would manifest by a simple word: "think" and a bubble would pop out of people's head, taking away all their ignorant/narrow minded ideas, and fade away.
Who is your favourite superhero/person/public figure, contemporary or imagined?
Michael Jackson. His voice. His words. His actions. His ideas. What a great human.
What do you admire most about Frida Kahlo and "Freda" Josephine Baker?I don’t know much about Frida and Freda's work. To me they are women of art just like Nina Simone, Billie Holiday or my great grand mother, Darling Legitimus (who danced on stage with Freda). I think they are inspiring through their art as much as their struggle and personal stories.
What do you think of when you think of them?
I think art is beauty.
What would you change in Melbourne? Australia? The world?
What I would change in Melbourne, Australia and the world would be to open the gates. No visas, no immigration issues, no boundaries. You want move to Mexico or Rome or Auckland. You are free to do so. Choose the land you want to call home.
Are there any other issues that are important to you? Locally? Globally?
Neo slavery. Greed. Sex trafficking. Ignorance.
Do you feel like change is possible in these areas? How? I feel comfortable about this-YES! But speaking your ideas to yourself and trying to stick to it is the hardest part of the job. It is really easy to have grand speech about different matter. Living according to your beliefs is the real deal.
Do you think your ideas could change anything?
Let’s hope.
Are you comfortable speaking your mind/putting ideas into the world?
I think art can help people change their opinion on things and open their perspectives. My ideas are no better than yours. Only the actions I will put behind my ideas will have power.
Do you consider yourself a feminist? Womanist? Why/why not? What does this mean to you?
I don’t really know what feminism is really. I've honestly never looked into it. I as a human wish for equality and happiness for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, beliefs, origin or wealth.
How often do you subconsciously/consciously think about your desired superpower when you dress on a daily basis?
I think I will start to think about it now.
